Chunky beads will continue to be a popular choice through 2009. That is a great thing because I have quite a few personally & I am seeing them everywhere (I know, living in the Midwest we are a few steps behind in most things) but just look online, they're still there as well. Turquoise, coral, jasper, and Black & White are the major colors of choice for spring. Gold is still going to be a popular choice for jewelry as well as silver. Because of the popularity of silver, the price is rising, so you’re favorite pieces are more than likely going to be more expensive than they were last year. Stainless Steel is suddenly becoming a more popular 2nd choice to Silver due to pricing. I personally like the combination of silver & gold (whether it's sterling, or white gold & yellow gold). It's a pretty classic combo that will likely not go out of style.

Cuffs & bangles are definitely going to be a must have! Big bold cuffs will be the focal statement of a woman’s outfit. Look for cuffs in plain metals, animal prints, and heavily jeweled. If you’re not a big bold cuff person, maybe a dainty set of bangles if more your style. Natural stones in turquoise, lapis, tiger’s eye, jade, and adventurine are going to be the ones to be on the look for this spring. If you're like me, I always look for a little bit of sparkle so I'm always happy to see lots of "bling" on TV & the in the fashion magazines.

Large pendants will be seen everywhere, in ethnic designs & can be worn with beads or on their own on a simple chain. Some colors you will see in many pendants will be tiger’s eye, lapis, & onyx.

Pearls are still a big favorite for spring – wear a long necklace of pearls & have the option of wrapping it once, twice, or sometimes 3 times. I like to wear my pearls in layers, kind of like a Madonna 80's look. The traditional ivory is the most popular color in pearls, but you have many options to choose between right now. Pale peach, pink, gold, champagne, bronze, chocolate, gray, and black have become very popular. You will also be able to pick from a variety of sizes & shapes as well as the color of pearls. Your only limitation is your budget & imagination.
As for earrings, you’re going to be pretty fabulous in whatever you wear. The biggest statement will be dangles and chandelier earrings. These earrings come in all sizes and colors to fit every woman’s style and budget. I know from my personal preference, I hate leaving the house without at least a pair of stud pearls. I feel “naked” without earrings. Earrings are representative to the woman’s style. One note, if you have on a focal necklace, stick to a small pair of earrings & vice versa. If you have a large set of chandelier earrings, maybe leave your neck free or just have a simple chain & then wear a big cuff bracelet.
"Look at me accessories" - Think Big! Bold pieces such as chunky necklaces, gum-ball sized pearls (my personal favorite), wide belts, big brooches are all going to be seen a lot this spring.
Some extra tips for your style:
- You want to look like you haven’t tried too hard, like you just threw something together.
- Add some edge to your look: add mounds of different bracelets, use oversize stones
- Mix Feminine items with a menswear piece such as a vest with pearls & heels
- Pearls, diamonds, turquoise – never go out of style
